Student Clubs
The AI in Business Club aims to become a trusted professional development platform at the Smith School of Business, empowering MBA students to confidently lead, advise, and make sound decisions in AI-enabled organizations through applied learning, responsible leadership, and practical career readiness.
The Consulting Club’s main goal is to help students land jobs in consulting. Their strategic priorities are to provide a place to practice and to provide visibility for club members. Regarding practice, their executive team created a platform for members to access consulting preparation material and find partners for case interview practice. In addition, they have held interactive case sessions and provided benchmarking sessions for their members. Regarding visibility, they have held guest speaker sessions to inform members about niche areas within consulting and provide them with a way to interact and network with industry specialists.
Healthcare Club The Smith Healthcare Club aims to establish a space not only for students from a clinical background, but for all students who will inevitably interact within the Canadian healthcare system as future leaders and decision makers. Ultimately, we want every future MBA student to graduate with a practical understanding of how business decisions across industries, such as finance and consulting, intersect with healthcare outcomes. This club equips students to think critically and advocate for better healthcare systems.
The Smith Full-time MBA Finance Club is proud to support students' professional ambitions to pursue lifelong careers in finance and capital markets. As a club, they create opportunities for students to connect with industry professionals, host speaker-series events and fireside chats with finance executives, and create a networking platform for students to meet with world-class firms across Canada and abroad. This year they were proud to host Smith's first annual M&A Competition, testing students' knowledge on real-world merger deals while bringing in judges from some of Canada's leading Investment Banks and Corporate Advisory firms.
The Smith Impact Club aims to create accessible, well-structured opportunities for students to give back while developing leadership, collaboration, and impact measurement skills. The club facilitates activities such as community service initiatives with local organizations, food waste reduction projects, social impact pitch events, and speaker sessions in collaboration with CEISI and alumni. Ultimately, the goal is to foster a culture of purpose-driven leadership, one where impact is not an add-on, but an integrated part of the MBA experience, and where students leave Smith having created value beyond the classroom.
The Women in Leadership Club gives members multiple networking, business connection and career opportunities that help women leverage their MBA into a rewarding career. They organize events including speaker sessions in which leading practitioners share their experiences and knowledge with club members and help with important networking for future MBA careers.
