As Smith's Master of International Business is a pre-experience program, candidates are not required to possess work experience, however we have many successful applicants each year who possess full-time post-graduate work experience.

Smith's Master of International Business is an intensive program. Each student must be able to synthesize large amounts of verbal and written information efficiently; review, comprehend and critique abundant readings; command leadership of their team when required; engage in classroom discussions and presentations; and author team assignments. Consequently, all candidates must possess exceptional English facility and communication skills to be competitive for admission.
Candidates whose native language is not English, and whose undergraduate university studies were taken in a language other than English must achieve a satisfactory score on one of the accepted tests of facility in English.
Candidates whose native language is not English but who have earned a university degree from a degree program in which English was the language of instruction will be exempt from this requirement.
Please note that some double degree options require candidates to take additional language courses as part of the partner university degree requirements. In addition, some double degree options require candidates to possess proficiency in a language other than English as part of the entrance requirements for that double degree option.
