Unleash with Joze Piranian

Overcoming adversity through the lens of diversity and inclusion

The last year proves that we need to change how we tackle diversity and inclusion (D&I) within our organizations. D&I is a complex tango that takes two: empowerment of the individual and inclusive acceptance from all members of the organization.

Transformational speaker and comedian, Joze Piranian, shares his journey of overcoming adversity and offers guidance in building a culture of belonging. After spending most of his life avoiding speaking due to a debilitating stutter, Joze is now a TEDx speaker and a CBC featured standup. Actionable takeaways, interspersed with lighthearted moments of comedy, help you feel empowered, better informed, more empathetic and motivated to launch (or contribute to) D&I initiatives at work or on campus. This webinar took place on Thursday, April 22 at 12:00 p.m. EDT.

Participants learn:

• Why it's necessary to create a culture of inclusion and belonging in the workplace and on campus.

• How to become a champion of inclusion by deepening your sense of understanding and allyship towards those with lived experiences different than your own.

• How to own your uniqueness while enhancing your capacity for courage, self-acceptance, persistence and resilience.

Discover the power of overcoming fears and optimizing potential. Nurture sensitivity and empathy towards all people who face challenges. This talk is a special co-presentation by the Smith Graduate Programs EDII Club and Smith Business Insight, and is supported by Smith Blue Sky EDII Project Funding. Joze welcomes you to connect with him via LinkedIn and Instagram
