Twenty twenty-five forced us to reckon with fundamental questions about power, identity and truth in the workplace and beyond. We learned that the courage to challenge authority is becoming less career suicide and more survival skill; that employee surveillance may have an upside; and that women in the gig economy continue to shadow box against persistent biases. Research also showed us that, despite shifts in perception around workplace professionalism, the jury is still out on whether tattoos are appropriate in the office.

The past year has also been reflective. We looked at meditation and self-compassion and their benefits in the workplace. Social media influencers pushed us to consider what it means to be authentic. And, in one of our most recent reads, we examined the role of gratitude at work, and how this simple practice can influence culture and well-being.

As these stories show, we’ve done our best to help you make sense of it all. Together they capture a year when business confronted its contradictions — and discovered that the messy, human questions might be the most important ones of all.
