Program Schedule
16 Months from Start to Finish
The Executive MBA at Smith is an important undertaking that requires a significant investment of time. Smith has designed a schedule that makes it possible to earn your MBA degree while balancing your personal and professional responsibilities.
By scheduling classes all day Friday and Saturday morning of every other week, Smith gives you 12 days between class weekends to organize your business travel or family plans. Saturday afternoons on class weekends are available for activities such as working on group assignments, summarizing class discussions, and preparing for presentations. These afternoons also provide an excellent opportunity for tutorials and consultations with faculty.
Balanced Workload
The Smith Executive MBA schedule typically requires a commitment of 25 hours each week, including class times. Exams, projects, and assignments are divided evenly throughout the year so that you can develop a regular work pattern. There is a brief pause in classes in December and July, though other program commitments may be actioned during this time. There is also time set aside in late September/early October for travel associated with the Global Business Project.

Classes are held every other week – all day Friday (9:30 am to 6:30 pm Eastern Standard Time) and Saturday morning (9:30 am to 1:30 pm Eastern Standard Time). - 2 Week International Study Trip
All students will travel to an international partner school and complete an elective course. Teams will then complete travel for the purpose of meeting with their client and completing the Global Business Project. Approximate time away is two weeks – one week at the international school location, and a second week completing work for the project. October 1 to 25, 2025
