Queen’s Staff Info

Available to Queen’s University staff who want to gain fundamental knowledge in key areas of business.

Curriculum

Staff are required to take six (6) introductory Commerce courses to obtain the Certificate. The Certificate is recognized on the Queen’s transcript.

  • Staff may complete courses in any order, but we strongly recommend that COMM 200/600 (Business Fundamentals) or COMM 201/601 (Introduction to Business for Entrepreneurs) be taken first.
  • Staff who are currently pursuing a degree at Queen’s are able to take a maximum of two (2) Certificate courses at the 200-level. These are typically the first courses taken in the Certificate. Courses taken at the 200-level courses can be used as electives toward a degree program. The remaining four (4) courses are to be taken at the 600-level. Courses taken at the 200-level courses cannot be used as electives toward a degree program.
