Are the psychological demands of leadership in your organization fully understood, or are they quietly taking a toll? While leaders are expected to model resilience and guide others through uncertainty, their own mental health challenges often remain overlooked, underreported and stigmatized.

As a leader or someone who supports them, what are you doing to recognize, validate and respond to the mental health realities of leadership? How can organizations adopt approaches that strengthen both leaders’ well-being and their capacity to lead effectively?

On Thursday, January 29 at 1:00 PM, join Smith Business Insight and Queen’s Executive Education to discover practical cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) tools and strategies designed specifically for leadership contexts. In this session, Julian Barling, Borden Chair of Leadership at Smith School of Business and an expert in leadership and workplace well-being, and Simon Rego, Chief of Psychology at Montefiore Medical Center and Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, will draw on insights from their newly released book, The Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Workbook for Leaders. Together, they’ll explore the prevalence, impact and persistent misconceptions surrounding leaders’ mental health — and offer actionable tools for strengthening resilience.

You’ll explore:

  • The unique psychological demands of leadership and how they affect mental health
  • Common misconceptions that contribute to stigma and silence among leaders
  • Evidence-based CBT strategies that leaders can use to manage stress, regulate emotions and make more effective decisions
  • Live demonstrations of CBT exercises designed for real-world leadership challenges

This webinar will be of interest to current and aspiring leaders, executive and leadership coaches, HR and organizational development professionals, and mental health practitioners seeking evidence-based approaches to support leadership health and effectiveness.
