This 13-week summer program, following a BCom (Accounting), begins in May and includes 5 courses which will qualify you to enter the final stages of CPA certification.
Queen's Graduate Diploma in Accounting provides an excellent opportunity to deepen your understanding and significantly expand your knowledge of accounting, while preparing you for entry into the CPA Capstone Modules 1 and 2. Upon completion of these modules, you will be ready to write the Common Final Evaluation (CFE).
Smith School of Business has a proven track record in preparing recent business undergraduates for their professional designation. Over the last five years, Queen’s graduates have consistently achieved or exceeded a 90 percent pass rate for first–time writers of the UFE exams — a success rate unprecedented in Canada.
With the Queen's Graduate Diploma in Accounting option, you will qualify to write the CFE in only 15 months, unlike the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP) option, which takes a total of 27 months.
Because Queen's Graduate Diploma in Accounting combined with the prerequisites to admission (normally a Commerce degree of rigour equivalent to Queen’s Commerce with a concentration in accounting) is nationally accredited under CPA National Accreditation Standards, once you have successfully completed the program, you will be qualified to enter the CPA Capstone Modules 1 and 2 anywhere in Canada.
