Biography
I specialize in the study of competitive dynamics, with a particular emphasis on analyzing the nature of competitive actions and the strategic repertoires firms employ in navigating rivalry.
My dissertation explores the phenomenon of competitive surprise—Unexpected competitor behavior that causes a sense of astonishment, confusion, or threat. I propose a formal definition, develop a typology, and construct a theoretical framework to better understand this concept. Through empirical analysis, I examine the conditions that enable certain firms to deploy competitive surprises and assess their impact on subsequent competitive behavior and performance.
Methodologically, my research integrates advanced computational techniques, including natural language processing, large language models, and deep learning architectures, to collect and analyze vast corpora of textual data. These tools form the backbone of my approach to uncovering nuanced patterns in strategic communication and behavior.
