Guillaume Picard-Lalonde

Biography

Guillaume’s research is rooted in his early career as a Chartered Professional Accountant, where three years in audit shaped his interest in how professional practice sometimes departs from theory. Drawing on semi structured interviews and theoretical foundations in the sociology of professions, Guillaume investigates continuing professional development and the audit of atypical auditees. Both empirical settings have yet been overlooked by the academic literature despite their significance. His findings carry meaningful implications for the public interest, shaping both professional practice and academic research.

Guillaume also holds several other research interests, including the impact of representations of the accounting profession across different popular culture media on perceptions of the profession.

He is co-supervised by Erica Pimentel and Bertrand Malsch.
