Certificate in Professional Impact Analysis

The Certificate in Professional Impact Analysis (CPIA) is an online program designed for professionals making consequential decisions in environments shaped by multiple worldviews, competing priorities, and incomplete information.

CPIA covers impact measurement and forecasting. But impact leadership also requires more:

Define

what matters

Understand

relationships in data

Respect

all worldviews

Compare

trade-offs fairly

Recognize

uncertainty

Communicate

clearly enough

The CPIA program equips leaders with the skills and perspective needed to navigate an increasingly complex and fast-changing strategic landscape, supporting wiser decisions and more credible impact reports.

Distinguish yourself in this fast-emerging and important discipline. Learn the best practices, tools, and methods to define, quantify, and report impact across the lifecycle of organizations, projects, or policies.

Get ahead of AI: Built for a fast-moving discipline

As AI tools take on more analytical work, organizations need people who can direct them, interpret their outputs, and validate their conclusions. CPIA gives you the impact literacy required to take advantage of greater access to such analytical tools.

How the program works

Four online modules support self-paced learning. Each lecture is recorded, allowing you to attend class live and then re-watch at your own convenience to review key topics. Interactivity is included throughout, with an upfront half-day orientation and three full-day virtual capstone hands-on sessions with classmates, coaches, and faculty instructors. Weekly one-hour check-ins serve to tackle any questions from course content and solidify your ability to apply concepts to real-world contexts.

“When it comes to reporting impact and using it in decision-making, we are deep in siloed approaches. What I learned in this course is a 360-degree view that brings it all together.”

The CPIA program is built around the Impact Analysis Toolkit, which covers 10 tools to make impact visible, trade-offs comparable, and action possible.
