MSc students receive generous funding in the amount of $26,000 from Smith School of Business. This funding is allocated from several sources – Smith Business awards, research assistantships, university fellowships, teaching assistantships and international tuition awards.

Students may supplement their package with additional research assistantship and teaching assistantship employment. Graduate students may work a total of 520 hours per year, or an average of 10 hours per week.

The program also provides funding to students to conduct research and present at conferences during the academic year.

Fellowships and Awards

All applicants to the MSc program who have accepted an offer of admission by March 1 are automatically considered for nomination for University fellowships and School of Business awards.

Students entering the MSc program with a provincial or national fellowship will also see their funding package increase. MSc students planning to apply to the PhD program are expected to apply for external fellowships early in the first term of the MSc year.
