The Hidden Impact of Big Events: Beyond Direct Effects

A new investment creates jobs in one sector—but what happens elsewhere in the economy?

A policy boosts productivity—but who gains, and who loses? A global shock disrupts supply chains—but how far do the effects spread?

Major events and policy interventions rarely affect just one sector. Their impacts ripple through supply chains, labor markets, and regional economies—often in ways traditional impact assessments fail to capture.

On April 23rd, join us for a free webinar exploring practical approaches to measuring these hidden, system-wide effects. We discuss why conventional methods fall short, when it matters most to go beyond direct impacts, and how more comprehensive analytical tools can reveal the deeper connections shaping economic outcomes.

Can't join us for the live event? Sign up anyway to receive the recording via email and view at your own convenience.

Designed for policymakers, impact analysts, researchers, investors, and advocates, this session will help you better understand—and rigorously measure—how major events truly reshape economies.

Following our presentation will be ample time for Q&A about any element of the CPIA program or application process.
