Since 1919, Smith School of Business has been renowned for its excellence, innovation, and leadership in business education and research.

On October 1, 2015, in recognition of the generous gift of $50 million from Queen’s alumnus Stephen Smith, the School adopted a new name — The Stephen J.R. Smith School of Business at Queen’s University.

These guidelines have been developed to outline and articulate the visual identity of Smith School of Business. It is very important that these guidelines are followed to protect the integrity of our brand.

Brand & Visual Identity

The Smith School of Business Brand & Visual Identity Guide provides a consistent foundation and framework to express the many facets of the business school. These guidelines help us to better express our story, to tell it with greater consistency, and share it more effectively.

Colours

There are a number of carefully curated colours as part of the Smith Business visual identity. The primary colours are used regularly and often. The bright secondary colour palette is used to create visual interest. The tertiary colours are used sparingly as accents only.

Typography

Consistent application of typography is required to maintain the Smith Business brand design style. There are three official fonts.

Resources

The brand resources provide the building blocks that allow the Smith community to apply the updated visual identity. These resources will be expanded over time to make creating effective branded communications easier.

Event Branding Guide

These guidelines have been developed to assist staff and faculty in the proper branding of all Smith School of Business events.

Logo Downloads

There are two Smith School of Business full logo orientations which provide the flexibility to use the logo in a wide variety of applications. A third variation, the box logo, should be used on photos or busy backgrounds.

Photo Downloads

A number of photos have been vetted for use and are available for download in .jpg format.

Virtual Meeting Backgrounds

A variety of virtual meeting backgrounds are available to incorporate branded imagery in online meetings and classes.

PowerPoint Templates

PowerPoint templates have been created to support professional internal and external presentations.

Guidelines for Digital Screens

To post to the digital screens at Goodes Hall and SmithToronto, first read the Considerations and Specifications prior to submitting the request.
