Important Dates

Note: this is a summary only. For complete, official details, see Queen’s University admissions.

Application Phase

October 1, 2026 – Application opens on the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre website.

November 20, 2026 – To give you enough time to access the online Major Admission Award Application (MAA), we strongly recommend applying to Queen’s by this date.

December 8, 2026 – Deadline to apply for Major Admission Awards.

February 1, 2027 – Deadline to apply.

February 15, 2027 – Deadline to submit the mandatory Commerce Supplementary Application.

March 31, 2027 – Deadline to submit all documents, including transcripts and English test scores.

Offers of Admission

Queen’s begins making offers in early December and continues making admission decisions through May.

Acceptance Phase

May 1, 2027 – Deadline for response to offers of admission for applicants not attending an Ontario high school. Applicants should always check their offer letter for their specific response deadline.

May 21, 2027 – All Queen’s admission decisions are complete and posted on SOLUS.

June 1, 2027 – Deadline for response to offers of admission for students attending an Ontario high school. Deadline for students who received an offer after May 1. Deadline for residence application and deposit. To be considered for a space in residence, you must complete your application and submit your deposit no later than June 1 at 4 pm, ET.

July 15, 2027 – Deadline for final grades and confirmation of OSSD for Ontario high school students.

August 1, 2027 – Final transcript deadline for students not currently studying in an Ontario high school.

September 1, 2027 – Final transcript deadline for students studying the GCE and CAPE curriculum.

Come to Queen’s

August, 2027 – Early move-in available for international students.

Successful Applicants

At Smith School of Business, we’re looking for a combination of: strong academic performance; aptitude for qualitative and quantitative subjects; demonstrations of self-awareness, and potential for leadership and teamwork.

There are two elements for admission: required courses and marks from high school transcripts; and a mandatory Supplementary Application. For details on course requirements, full deadlines, and more, refer to Queen’s University Undergraduate Admission and Recruitment.

Queen’s University Admission Pathways

Pathways exist for first-generation and Indigenous students. Pathways provide comprehensive support for potential applicants to assist them in navigating the processes. All admission requirements must be met.

Supports include:

  • Financial planning (OSAP, scholarships & bursaries)
  • Parental assurance
  • First-year transition supports

QBridge

QBridge is an English language pathway to Queen’s University for students who are academically competitive for admission to a Queen’s undergraduate degree program, but who do not meet the required admission standard for English language proficiency.

The QBridge programs ensure that students are linguistically, academically, and culturally prepared to complete their Queen’s undergraduate degree studies.

  • QBridge Accelerated is an intensive eight-week summer course, for students with a certain minimum standardized English language test score.
  • QBridge English for Academic Purposes (EAP) is for students who do not meet the requirements for QBridge Accelerated but are academically competitive for admission.
