QSB Matchmakers to help turn $2M into $4M!

Posted on December 3, 2014

Kingston, ON – Queen's School of Business has launched a new fundraising initiative aimed at doubling $2M. Starting Dec. 2, 2014, individual donations made to the business school will be matched - dollar for dollar - with the goal of reaching $4M.

All individual pledges or gifts to QSB between $1,000 -$25,000 are eligible for the matching program, which is open to the entire QSB community - from alumni, staff, and faculty to friends and parents.

Young alumni have a chance to make an even bigger impact. Those who graduated in 2004 or later qualify for an extraordinary match of $2 to $1. A pledge or gift of $2,500, for example, turns into a $7,500 contribution to the School. The same donation range between $1,000 -$25,000 applies. Pledge commitments may be made over a period of five years.

"We are excited to launch a fundraising initiative that leverages gifts from our donors," said David Saunders, Dean. "We hope our alumni, especially those who graduated in the last ten years, will take up the challenge and donate."

How does it work?
From now through April 30, 2016 (or until the matching fund runs out), the fund will match eligible individual new gifts and pledge commitments, including class giving funds, made to QSB.

Gifts - and the corresponding match - can be earmarked to any of the School's fundraising priorities. All funds will count toward QSB's $65M Invest in QSB Campaign goal. Currently, the Campaign has raised $54M to support the Goodes Hall expansion, student scholarships and bursaries, faculty professorships and the new living case initiative.
