Erin Webster teaches Accounting and Audit in various programs at Smith School of Business (Executive MBA, Accelerated MBA, Graduate Diploma in Accounting, Commerce). She is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and is also a facilitator for CPA’s national Professional Education Program.

Full Bio

Erin is based in Kingston, Ontario where she is a CPA, CA and holds a MSc in Management from Smith School of Business (2003).

Erin obtained her Chartered Accountant (CA) designation while with Deloitte's Audit practice in 2000. Erin has published her research on accounting quality and held roles in financial planning & reporting.

Erin taught previously with CA School of Business and University of Regina and currently facilitates with the CPA Professional Education Program as well as teaches at Smith School of Business at Queen's University.

Financial Accounting and Analysis: MBUS 811
2019, 2020, 2021 Fall Term 
This course advances Executive MBA students’ understanding of how to use, analyze and forecast financial information, as well as improve financial literacy. The focus is on financial accounting and reporting, its limitations and its role in capital markets. 

Foundations of Accounting: formerly MBUS 810 (non-credit course)
2019, 2020, 2021 Spring/Summer  
This non-credit course introduces Executive MBA students to financial statements, accounting principles, and accounting systems (mastery is required for Opening Session attendance). It also includes two in session classes on corporate financial reporting and financial analysis.  

Financial Accounting: Analysis, Strategy & Integration: MBUS 834

Accelerated MBA students learn a framework for business analysis and valuation, using public financial information to critically analyze what financial reports are telling us, why firms report or withhold certain information, and how to be sophisticated users of this information.

The objective of the Assurance module is to equip CPA candidates with the competencies necessary to perform both internal audit projects and external assurance engagements. The focus is on key concepts of auditing including risk, materiality, and internal control.
