Gongtai Wang is an Assistant Professor in Digital Technology at Smith School of Business, Queen’s University, Canada. Before, he worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher in Business Information Systems Discipline at UQ Business School, University of Queensland, Australia. He got his PhD in Information Systems and Management from Warwick Business School, University of Warwick, United Kingdom.
Gongtai teaches and researches topics related to digital innovation, specifically focusing on how to fundamentally rethink and strategically redesign traditional products/services and business models with emerging digital technologies such as the Internet of Everything, mixed reality, artificial intelligence, and blockchain. His research has been published in MIS Quarterly and Journal of Product Innovation Management and honored with awards at flagship information systems conferences. Prior to his academic career, he worked as a system engineer in the information technology industry.
