Full Bio
Cory Hinds is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University.Cory earned his PhD in Business Administration (Accounting) from the University of Iowa, and also holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Accounting from Brigham Young University. Before beginning his graduate studies, Cory worked as an auditor for EY in New York City, New York.
Cory uses experiments to explore the judgments and decisions of investors, managers, and other capital market participants in financial disclosure and capital market settings. His recent work focuses on understanding factors that influence retail and professional investors' information choices and investing decisions, and seeks to address social issues that affect the welfare of underserved investor groups. His work has been published in The Accounting Review, a leading academic journal for accounting research.
In his free time, Cory enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, traveling, and watching sports.
