Full Bio

Raga holds an M.S. (2010) and Ph.D. (2013) in Computer Science from California Institute of Technology, and a B.Tech. (2008) in Computer Science and Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Madras.

He held postdoctoral positions at the University of Colorado Boulder (Electrical, Computer, and Energy Engineering) and Cornell University (Civil and Environmental Engineering) as well as informal visiting postdoctoral positions at the University of Southern California (Marshall School of Business) and Cornell University (Operations Research and Information Engineering).

Between his academic postdoctoral appointments, Raga worked at Conduent Labs India (formerly Xerox Research Center India), Bangalore, as a Research Scientist within the Algorithms and Optimization area group.

Raga’s research interests are primarily in the areas of (a) Service Operations Management, where his focus is on studying service systems with strategic entities, and (b) Pricing and Revenue Management, where his focus is on designing sustainable market models for modern urban mobility. His research combines tools from multiple subjects such as optimization, probability, queueing theory, decision theory, game theory and mechanism design for obtaining analytical results, as well as numerical methods and data-driven simulation for validation in real-world environments.
