Call for Project Partners

The Global Business Project is an opportunity for organizations to receive comprehensive analysis to help solve a global business issue or challenge. Student will work in teams and travel to an international location to conduct field research that culminates in a consulting report.

Process & Timeline

May - June

Complete a project proposal

  • Interested organizations are asked to submit an online project proposal.
  • Projects will be reviewed and approved by the Assistant Director, Project Courses.
July - Aug

Match with a team & agree to a project plan

  • Project proposals will be shared with student teams, who will connect with partner organizations and select a project that aligns with their interests.
  • Student teams and partner organizations will agree to terms on a project plan.
Aug - Feb

Project execution

  • Student teams will work on deliverables outlined in the project plan, communicating with the partner organization as needed.
  • Project work will involve the student team traveling outside of Canada and the United States to conduct research.
  • Student teams will produce a 10+ page consulting report at the conclusion of the project detailing their research, analyses, and recommendations.

Partner Requirements

  • The organization must have a well-defined, managerial problem or challenge.
  • Deliverables must be achieved within a 6-month timeframe.
  • The project scope must amount to roughly 500 hours of consulting work.
  • The organization must assign a dedicated person to liaise with the student.
  • The project topic must provide the team with the opportunity to travel outside of Canada and the United States to conduct research.

  • Developing an international growth strategy
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of a potential merger
  • Supply chain optimization
  • Marketing & branding improvements for a global audience
  • Recommendations for optimizing business operations
  • Developing a turnaround strategy
