The main campus of Queen’s University is in the heart of Kingston, Ontario. Kingston also is known as one of the best places to live in Canada. It has a thriving downtown district, with a vibrant art and theatre scene, lots of shopping options, and outstanding and diverse restaurants and bars. According to the Journal of American Planning, Kingston is among the most vibrant downtown centres in North America.

A city brimming with culture, Kingston has the most museums per capita and plenty of lively festivals, concerts, and events year-round. Its waterfront bike trail and the Gord Downie Memorial Pier offer students many spots to unwind. Green spaces include city parks, regional conservation areas, Ontario Parks, and National Parks nearby.

Traffic is minimal, which means getting anywhere in the city is easy. The city is well served by transit, and ride share and taxi services. Most of Queen’s students live within a 15-minute walk to campus. Kingston has been named one of the most walkable cities in Canada.

Located midway between Toronto and Montreal, within two hours drive of Ottawa, and 40 minutes of the U.S. border, Kingston is easily accessible by air, bus or train.
