Smith MBA tops Financial Times ranking for career services in Canada for 6th year in a row

Kingston, Ont. — For the sixth consecutive year, Smith School of Business was ranked No. 1 in Canada by the Financial Times for career services in its recently released ranking of the Top 100 global MBA programs. This consistent result reflects the strong career coaching, personal development and network building available to students at Smith.

The ranking also sees Smith placed first in the country for graduates’ percentage salary increase and career progress, and the program’s value for money, highlighting the strong return on investment experienced by alumni.

“The Smith Full-time MBA delivers clear, measurable value,” said Kerri Regan, Director, Full-time MBA & Master of International Business, Smith School of Business. “Students gain the skills, connections and confidence needed to accelerate their careers. They see the return quickly through salary growth, and long-term through expanded opportunity.”

Smith MBA alumni reported an average 96 per cent salary increase, calculated by comparing pre-MBA earnings with salaries three years after graduation.

“The program is a strategic investment in students’ long-term success – paying dividends not only in their first role after graduation, but throughout their entire careers,” said Karen Jackson-Cox, Executive Director of Smith’s Career Advancement Centre. “In a volatile job market, our approach ensures students have experienced professionals in their corner providing personalized coaching, industry insight and the support needed to navigate change with confidence.”

The Global MBA ranking evaluates schools across categories including career progress, diversity, research, and environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors. Results are based on data submitted by schools and a survey of alumni conducted three years after graduation.

In total, only five Canadian MBA programs were included in the 2026 ranking with Smith ranked 92nd overall. View the full ranking here.
