Toronto, Ont. – Smith School of Business students are among the first to receive new scholarships that recognize promising AI talent in Ontario.

The Vector Institute recently announced the first group of recipients of the Vector Scholarship in Artificial Intelligence.

The merit-based award is given to master's students studying in core-technical and complementary AI-related fields.

The five Smith students to receive the scholarship are all enrolled in the school’s Master of Management in Artificial Intelligence program. They are:

  • Levi Burns
  • Meghan Fotak
  • Tyler Hennick
  • Victoria Sopik
  • Brian Yee

Students from eight other universities also received scholarships. The Vector awards support the recruitment of top students to AI-related master's programs. Vector will launch the 2019-20 scholarship competition early next year.
