Queen’s MBA ranked top in Canada by Canadian Business magazine

Posted on October 30, 2014
Kingston, ON - Oct. 30, 2014 – Earlier this month, Canadian Business ranked Queen’s full-time program as the top MBA in Canada. The Canadian Business “Top 10” focuses on value for money, citing “a big return on investment” as the key reason Queen’s MBA secured the No. 1 spot in the 2014 ranking.

The magazine, the oldest business publication in Canada, recently reintroduced its annual ranking of domestic MBA programs, which is determined by a mix of criteria, including reputation, salary increase, and classroom experience. The full 2014 ranking of Canada’s Best MBA Programs can be found on the magazine’s website.

“We’re always pleased when our outstanding MBA programs are recognized for their strengths,” said David Saunders, Dean, Queen’s School of Business. “We know that rankings—as well as overall student experience, quality of faculty and reputation of the school—are all factors that prospective applicants consider when selecting the program that will help them take their career to the next level.”

To calculate the reputation portion of the ranking, independent research firm Compass surveyed MBA graduates and corporate recruiters for their opinions of Canadian business schools. The balance of the ranking is calculated with data submitted by schools, such as pre- and post-program salary, student-teacher ratio and diversity, GMAT scores, tuition, and required work experience. Five Canadian universities did not participate in part of the ranking this year. Canada’s Best MBA Programs: The Top 10 MBA Schools is published annually in the fall by Canadian Business.
