I came to the Full-time MBA at Smith School of Business because ...

it is ranked one of the top team-based MBA programs. The entire curriculum of the Smith MBA is designed to simulate real business situations whereby students work collaboratively in teams to face a variety of business problems. It was one of the best decisions of my life as I am now learning how to work within a high performing team. The small class of 81 students helped us to become a close family. As Smith has a diverse array of international and national students, I am getting to know about Canadian culture from my peers and, in return, sharing the culture of Singapore and Bangladesh.

For new applicants, the advice would be to highlight your team experiences while applying for this program. Smith MBA focuses on collaboration and transformational leadership. The admissions team is friendly and efficient in answering questions regarding the program, so it would be wise to visit an MBA fair, listen to a webinar or communicate by email. Smith receives a high volume of annual applicants and accepts potential students on a rolling basis, so it is beneficial to apply early, especially international applicants.

The MBA program will help me to pivot to a new career in consulting. The Smith MBA has unique specializations like Management Analytics and Digital Transformation, which will enhance my knowledge of implementing analytics into a business. Using the supportive alumni group and the diligent career centre, I am aiming to work for a top Canadian bank or a close-knit technology consulting firm.
