Commerce students tried their hand at advising clients on both sides of a major acquisition as part of the third annual Queen’s University Investment Counsel(QUIC) Analyst Deal Competition held in Toronto. Two competing teams analyzed Loblaw’s proposed acquisition of Shoppers Drug Mart, with each team advising one of the opposing parties. Teams presented to the panel of judges, which included Pavi Binning, President of George Weston Ltd., and Holger Kluge, Chair of Shoppers’ Board of Directors, as well as QUIC alumni and QSB staff.
