Overview
Dr. Sue Haywood, DBA, CHRL, CHRP, CD is an Executive HR Consultant and Assistant Professor (Adjunct) of Organizational Behaviour at the Smith School of Business, Queen’s University. She has held senior HR leadership roles in the public and private sectors, including Canadian Nuclear Laboratories, Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd., PepsiCo, and Business Sherpa Group. Her current work focuses on enabling organizations to scale and evolve. She is a proud mom and a strong supporter of Great Dane rescue (a passion her family does not always share).

Full Bio
Dr. Sue Haywood is an Executive HR Consultant and Assistant Professor (Adjunct) of Organizational Behaviour at the Smith School of Business, Queen’s University. She brings over two decades of leadership experience across sectors, having served in executive HR roles with Canadian Nuclear Laboratories, Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd., PepsiCo, and Business Sherpa Group. She is also a veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces, where she served as a commissioned officer in both the Regular and Reserve Forces.Dr. Haywood holds a Doctor of Business Administration in Human Resource Management from Walden University, a Master of Arts in War Studies from the Royal Military College of Canada, and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from Dalhousie University. She also earned a postgraduate certificate in Health Services Administration from Toronto Metropolitan University and a Higher Education Teaching Certificate from Harvard.
Her research explores the intersection of artificial intelligence and education, organizational culture, and the future of work. An active contributor to both academic and professional communities, she has served on the board and exam review panels for the Human Resources Professional Association (HRPA), and is currently a board committee member for the Ontario College of Nurses. Dr. Haywood holds Certified Human Resources Professional and Leader designations and has been recognized for her leadership and mentorship in the HR field.
