Dr. D. Lance Ferris (Ph.D., University of Waterloo; B.A., McMaster University) is a Professor of Organizational Behaviour at the Smith School of Business, Queen's University. Before joining Queen's, Dr. Ferris held academic positions in the business schools at Singapore Management University, The Pennsylvania State University, Michigan State University, and the University of Ottawa.

Dr. Ferris' research focuses on motivation in the workplace, using theories such as approach/avoidance, self-enhancement, and self-determination theory to understand why employees engage in both good behaviours (e.g., helping others) and bad behaviours (e.g., being uncivil or abusive).
