Dr. Patrick Egbunonu is the President and Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer at Informanos Analytics & Artificial Intelligence, an organization dedicated to helping leaders and organizations leverage analytics and AI to grow and succeed. In this role, he leads the development of AI-driven solutions, including an upward and 360-degree feedback platform, and works closely with organizations to improve decision-making, streamline workflows, and increase productivity.He is also the President of 1MT Technical and Leadership Institute, a not-for-profit organization focused on equipping young people across Africa with vocational and technical skills to thrive as future leaders. The institute takes an AI-first approach, combined with practical, hands-on learning, to build both technical capability and strong leadership foundations.
Patrick began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers before moving into the banking sector. He later joined a leading Canadian insurance company, where he led the analytics team for the group insurance division and was eventually appointed Manager of Group Underwriting, New Business, Amendments, and Analysis.
He went on to serve as Professor and Program Coordinator for the Business Analytics program at St. Lawrence College, a program he conceived and led the launch of. He taught courses in Business Intelligence, Data Mining, Strategic Analytics, and Operational Analytics. During his time there, he founded the Big Data and Artificial Intelligence Club and launched the Big Data and Artificial Intelligence Conference in 2018. He was later appointed Associate Dean of the School of Business and subsequently served as Acting Dean of Business and Community Services until August 2024.
Patrick is currently a Term Adjunct at the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University, where he teaches Digital Business and Technologies in the commerce and MBA programs. He has also taught Business Decision Models in the EMBA Americas program at Cornell and Queen’s Universities.
He is a frequent speaker on artificial intelligence, analytics, and the future of work, having presented at organizations such as TASSQ, Queen’s University, IIBA, HRPA, Export Development Canada, and the Canadian Management Consulting Conference.
Patrick holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University in Nigeria, a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering and a Master of Arts in Economics, both from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. He also earned a Master of Business Administration from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. He holds a Doctorate in Technology from Capitol Technology University in Maryland, with a focus on Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Agents in Management. He is a founding board member and former Chair of the Black Entrepreneur Ecosystem in Southeastern Ontario. He has also served on several community boards, including the Kingston Economic Development Corporation. He was named Community Builder of the Year at the 2025 Kingston Newcomer Entrepreneur Awards for his leadership in inclusive innovation. He was also named the 2026 Kingston Business Person of the Year by the Greater Kingston Chamber of Commerce.
As an educator and leader, Patrick is committed to creating practical and engaging learning environments where individuals are equipped not only with the tools to navigate change, but also with the clarity and confidence to lead it.
Patrick has also coached his son’s soccer and basketball teams. In his spare time, he volunteers as a cameraman for his son’s football team and as a coach for his daughter’s basketball team.
