Moez Ali is a Faculty Member in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at Smith School of Business at Queen’s University in Canada. He is the creator of PyCaret, an open-source, low-code machine learning library that has been widely adopted by data scientists, analysts, and organizations around the world.
Moez holds degrees in Finance, Economics, and Management Analytics from Queen’s University. Over the past decade, he has worked across North America, the Middle East, and Africa, applying AI to solve complex problems in sectors such as retail, financial services, government, and healthcare. He has held leadership roles in both startups and Fortune 500 companies and continues to advise early-stage technology ventures focused on AI-powered products.
His academic and professional work lies at the intersection of applied machine learning, responsible AI, and the democratization of data science. He is particularly interested in building AI systems that are explainable, inclusive, and accessible to non-technical users. His research and teaching focus on the practical application of automated machine learning (AutoML), model interpretability, and scalable AI architectures. Moez has also contributed to public discourse on ethical AI, open-source innovation, and the future of AI-native organizations. His work has been featured in leading publications, and he has served as a keynote speaker at major AI conferences worldwide.
At Queen’s, Moez teaches in the MMA, MMAI, and MBA programs, with a focus on Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Big Data, and Natural Language Processing.
