As two young professionals, Patrick and Jamie were having trouble finding a balance between eating out, which was expensive and unhealthy, and cooking for themselves at home, which was time consuming and inconvenient. Having always wanted to start their own business, they launched Chefs Plate to solve the problem faced by them and many others. Thanks to word-of-mouth and being an early player in the Canadian meal-kit market, by 2018, Chefs Plate had found great success and had the largest share of Canada's estimated $120 million meal-kit market.
