New Faculty

Issue: 

Sean Cleary is the newly named BMO Professor of Finance who joined the School this summer. He holds an MBA and PhD in Finance from the University of Toronto, is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder, and serves on the board of the Toronto CFA Society. His research focuses on empirical investigations of corporate finance issues such as firm investment, financing and dividend decisions, as well as investing and portfolio management issues. His present research focuses on debt ratings and the role of earnings management by corporations. Sean has published widely in top academic journals and is the recipient of several SSHRC research grants. He is also a co-author of several undergraduate finance textbooks.

 


Christopher Miners is an Assistant Professor in Organizational Behaviour who joined the School in July. He holds a BSc in Psychology from McGill University and a PhD in Organizational Behaviour and Human Resource Management from the University of Toronto. His research focuses on abilities, personality traits, and intra- and interpersonal processes that facilitate job performance and promote well-being. His current research examines the relation between emotional intelligence and leadership emergence.

 

 


Arcan Nalca is an Assistant Professor of Management Science and Operations Management who also joined the School in July. He received his PhD from the Desautels Faculty of Management at McGill University. His primary research interest lies in the field of supply chain management, especially in practically motivated research problems at the interface of operations and marketing, focusing on inventory, capacity, and pricing decisions. Related research interests include competition, coordination, and contracting in the presence of demand uncertainty.
