Will LeMay (BCom) and Ayesha Anklesaria have another son. Along with big brother Liam, they’re pleased to announce the birth of Kai Alexandre on June 17 in Toronto.

Jennifer Maki

Jennifer Maki, BCom, has been appointed to the board of Baytex Energy. Jennifer previously served as CEO of Vale Canada and executive director of Vale S.A., Base Metals. Before joining Vale/Inco, she worked at PwC for 10 years. Jennifer has also been a director of not-for-profit Next Generation Manufacturing Canada since September 2018 and is currently a director of the Franco-Nevada Corporation.

Tracy (Atkinson) Muxlow (BCom) left CPG marketing four years ago, after the arrival of her third child, to become a recruiter with fishRecruit in Toronto. She also works part-time with QSB’s Business Career Centre to help students interested in marketing careers. Jill Nykoliation

Jill Nykoliation, BCom’93, and her team at Juniper Park\TBWA, were presented with a Glass Lion at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity in June. The Toronto-based advertising agency earned gold in the category that celebrates culture-shifting creativity for its work with the Canadian Women’s Foundation on “Signal for Help”.

Marjorie Peart

Marjorie Peart, MPA’93, former director of the Commerce program, died on Jan. 6 in Kingston. She was 80. Marjorie joined the business school in 1995 as associate chair of the Commerce program. She became director in 2000 and served in that role until her retirement in 2004. Marjorie then travelled the world with her husband, Peter, but always came back to her beloved island on Fourteen Island Lake in Verona, Ont. Marjorie was also an avid quilter, chorister, piano player, scrabble, bridge and pickleball player. She is survived by Peter, her three children and five grandchildren.

Paul Pelton, MBA, is President and founder of Brand Driven Media, a marketing company that provides signage, vehicle graphics, decals and displays, fleetmanagement services and experiential advertising campaigns. Paul is a co-founder of Juan De Fuca Coffee Company and also a franchise-development partner for Freshii and Eat Energize, operating in Vancouver and in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia

Bruce Sellery, BCom, was in February named CEO at Credit Canada, a not-for-profit credit-counselling agency. Bruce is a well-known personal-finance expert and has written two bestselling personal-finance books. He sits on the Smith School of Business Advisory Board.
