Andy Bayandor, MMIE, is excited to announce the launch of Twelve 7 Ventures Inc., an accelerator program for high-potential entrepreneurs looking to scale their business while maintaining control. Andy says that Twelve 7 is now recruiting its first Ottawa-Gatineau cohort.

Indu Brar, EMBA, has been appointed senior vice-president, customer-technology services, North and Central America for Accor. She’s responsible for the hospitality group’s technology strategy in the region. “It is an incredible opportunity to help our hotels thrive in an era driven by technology and empower our teams as we continue to reinvent and transform in order to anticipate, meet and exceed stakeholder expectations,” she says.

Sandrino Brun, MIB, recently celebrated one year in the financial-accounting advisory-service practice at EY Switzerland. Sandrino counsels clients in the development and transformation of their finance and regulatory functions, reporting processes and financial modelling.

Sharat Chandra, EMBA’18, shares that he made a move from buildings-engineering consulting to health care, delivering a state-of-the-art 75 bed mental health substance use facility. He also delivered a novel procurement model for the development of Royal Columbian Hospital—the oldest hospital in B.C. And he led the planning and logistics operations for the rollout of Covid-19 vaccines to over 1.8 million people in the Fraser Health Region.

Kevin Crasta, AMBA, recently joined The Supreme Cannabis Company as project lead and will be establishing a new project-management office. Previously, Kevin worked for Staples as a change-management lead. Supreme Cannabis is a global, diversified portfolio of cannabis companies, products and brands.

Viktória Csánicz

Viktória Csánicz, MMIE, has joined tourism organization Attractions Victoria as executive director. Having moved west from Toronto, Viktória’s focus is on re-invigorating the organization’s brand, as well as promoting the city itself to locals and tourists. In May, she also launched her own videography company, the Coast Break Collective, alongside two other videographers. “We focus on creating an impact on our clients’ businesses and innovation through storytelling,” she says. “We’re primarily in B.C., but quickly growing.” Viktória says she started her videography career as a drone pilot a year ago “as a side hustle and quickly learned to love all aspects of creating a video.”

Connor Emeny

Connor Emeny, BCom’18, made history in February by becoming the first person to complete an Iron-Distance Triathlon on all seven continents. Yes, he swam 3.9 km, biked 180 km and ran 42.2 km in Antarctica. This is his second world record. He’s already recognized by Guinness World Records as the youngest person to complete an Ironman Triathlon on six continents. Connor says his message to the world is, “dare to dream and make it happen.” He is working on a documentary about his journey titled Chasing Antarctica. Connor Emeny, BCom’18, has been named one of the “20 Inspiring Young Alumni in the last 20 years” by his high school alma mater, St. Michael’s College School in Toronto. In March 2020, Connor completed his first Ironman competition (3.8 km swim, 180 km bike ride, 42.2 km run) in New Zealand. Within the next two years he established a world record by becoming the youngest person to finish an Ironman on six continents. He says he is now working to complete a triathlon in Antarctica in January 2024.
