Term Adjunct - Corporate Finance II

Corporate Finance II – MFIN 831 A Term Adjunct Teaching Position is open at the Smith School of Business for an instructor to teach at our Toronto campus, 200 Front Street West, in a lecture-style graduate course in the Masters of Finance Program. The position is to teach the Corporate Finance “half” of the elective course, MFIN 831: Financial Statement Analysis and Corporate Finance II, which is a winter term elective course. Teaching the Corporate Finance component includes teaching four “three and a half hour” sessions on the following dates: Four consecutive Monday evenings from 6:00 p.m.-9:30 p.m. beginning on Monday March 12, 2018 and finishing Monday, April 2, 2018. The successful applicant will be required to teach 50% of one (1) section of MFIN 831 with an anticipated enrollment of 20-60 students.

Qualifications

Qualifications include: a Master’s degree or Ph.D.; several years of progressive, senior experience in the investment industry in various roles; and, experience teaching university courses.

The corporate finance component of MFIN 831 discusses several important topics in Corporate Finance, and the topics covered may vary from year to year, but may include: the concepts of business risk and financial leverage and their impact on optimal capital structure; dividend policy and share repurchases; corporate governance; behavioral finance; etc.
