Brian W. Harvey
Brian W. Harvey, BCom, reports that he works as a quality and patient-safety specialist for Niagara Health in Ontario. “I provide leadership and support in the implementation, maintenance, and integration of quality improvement and patient-safety processes at five hospital sites,” he says. In June 2017, a safety initiative on which he worked won the 2017 National Award for Excellence in Patient Safety from the Canadian College of Health Leaders.

Alberto Heredia and Kristen Shamess
Alberto Heredia (BCom) and Kristen Shamess (ArtSci’07) were married in Aug. 2012 in Toronto. Close friends and family, including many alumni, joined the couple in celebrating the occasion. Alberto is a CA at Detour Gold and Kristen is the Manager of Customer Relations at Porter Airlines in Toronto.

Aileen Hunter
Aileen Hunter (AMBA) recently joined Dimock Stratton LLP as the Director of Finance and Administration. Dimock Stratton is one of Canada’s most recommended intellectual property firms, with extensive experience as intellectual property trial counsel, and involvement in leading patent, trademark, and copyright cases. As the Director of Finance and Administration, Aileen provides leadership on finance, operations and business issues.

Kathy Zhao (BCom) is attending Boston University School of Medicine, currently in the first year of a four-year medical program. Kathy worked in investment banking after graduation before making the switch to medicine.

Sanjiv Kalevar

Sanjiv Kalevar, BCom, has joined OpenView Venture Partners, an expansion-stage venture-capital firm, as its newest partner, after eight years with Battery Ventures. Sanjiv is working remotely from his home in Los Angeles for the remainder of the pandemic.

Sanjiv Kalevar, BCom, was recently promoted to principal at Battery Ventures, a global venture capital and growth equity firm. He has relocated to San Francisco to help build the West Coast software practice for the company, which also has offices in Boston, New York, London and Israel.

Kayla Kingdon-Bebb

Kayla Kingdon-Bebb, BCom’07, Artsci’07, has been appointed CEO of the World Wildlife Fund in New Zealand. Her appointment comes after serving as the director of policy for New Zealand’s Department of Conservation. Kayla obtained her master’s and PhD in land economy after her time at Queen’s and is an expert in treaty law, Indigenous customary law and legal pluralism as it relates to natural resource management policy.

Kayla Kingdon-Bebb (BCom, BA’07) is one of 14 recipients of the 2009/10 Canadian Centennial Scholarships. Kayla is studying at Cambridge for a PhD in Land Economy, in the field of Aboriginal Land Rights and Governance.

Crystal Kuan
Crystal Kuan and David Brent (both BCom) are pleased to announce their upcoming nuptials, to take place July 4 at the Design Exchange in Toronto. They currently live in London, U.K., where Crystal works at Apollo Asset Management and David at Rolls-Royce.
