Dustin Delegarde (BCom) recently joined accounting firm WHK (NZ) Ltd. in Dunedin, New Zealand, where his fiancée Kyle Gervais (Artsci'06, MA'08) is finishing a PhD in Latin at the University of Otago. Dustin invites classmates to contact him if they find themselves in South Island and would like a local tour.

Elvira Sanchez de Malicki (EMBA) reports family news. In August, her son Keram Malicki-Sanchez launched his latest CD “Come to Life”, featuring Alex Lifeson of RUSH on three of the disc’s ten tracks. Daughter Vanessa is expecting her first child in December, a first grandchild for Elvira. In September, her son Gibrian Malicki-Sanchez was called to the Bar, becoming the third-generation lawyer in the family to join the firm established by Gibrian’s grandfather in 1959. Since her graduation from Queen’s, Elvira has focused on the expansion of the firm as part of its succession plan. “Everything is working out splendidly. Thank you QSB!” says Elvira.

Josh Kumar, BCom, joined Thorsteinssons LLP. Josh’s practice focuses on tax litigation and dispute resolution with the Canada Revenue Agency and Department of Justice, as well as domestic and international tax planning for individuals, trusts and corporations, including estate planning, reorganizations and business structuring.

Jonathan Lithwick, BCom, and his wife are proud to announce the birth of their first child Erica Jaclyn, born last summer. 

Matthew McWhirter, BCom, was promoted to Senior Manager at Monitor Deloitte, the strategy consulting arm of Deloitte, in Toronto. He advises clients on corporate and business unit strategy across the financial services sector, ranging from retail banking and payments to wealth management and private equity. He was also appointed the Innovation Leader for Financial Services at Deloitte Canada, responsible for shaping the firm's innovation agenda and developing thought leadership on the future of the industry.
