Graeme Norwood, BCom’07, died on May 6 at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Toronto of a rare cancer. He was 38 years old. After graduating, Graeme earned his law degree at the University of Windsor and was a practising attorney, most recently with Chitiz Pathak LLP. He is survived by his wife, Ivana, and their two children.

Ethan Pancer, BCom, MSc’08, PhD’13, an Assistant Professor of Marketing at the Sobey School of Business, has been named as one of the world’s top 40 business professors under 40 by Poets & Quants. In this academic year, he received two university-wide teaching awards (undergraduate and MBA), coached three MBA teams to three national business championships, and published one of Ivey Publishing’s best-selling cases. He lives with his wife Ann Manderville, BSc’07, BA’08, BEd’10, and one-year-old son Owen.

Sushee Perumal (MBA) is CEO of YouBidLocal, a company founded by Kingston auctioneers Barry and Alicia Gordon (parents of Adam Gordon, MBA’08) and called “the eBay of Estate Sales” by Canada.com. The company is expanding across Ontario, “revolutionizing the live auction industry and creating local jobs in the process,” Sushee reports. He flies to various cities to hire, train and coach a fast-growing workforce and says the company will need to acquire a bigger plane for its planned expansion to Vancouver and Calgary. Neeraja Ramjee, MBA, is producing and appearing in the play Broken Images at Toronto’s Red Sandcastle Theatre from August 11 to 20. Neeraja is a Principal (Knowledge Expert) at Boston Consulting Group, based in New York City, currently working in Toronto. She describes the play as a psychological thriller that rips the mask off a celebrity and focuses on the conflicts and desire for fame within us all. Neeraja Ramjee (MBAst) and Anand Karat (MBAst) tied the marital knot seven months after they graduated from the full-time MBA program at Queen’s. Their traditional Indian wedding ceremony took place on Dec. 5, 2007, at the Sun Temple in Bangalore, India.

Regi Roy (CQ-EMBA) was a recipient of the ‘Forty under 40’ award from the Ottawa Business Journal. This award recognizes top business people under the age of 40 for business achievement, professional expertise, and community involvement. Since coming to Canada from India 10 years ago, Regi had successfully grown his career from stints at Espial Group and Corel Corporation before becoming VP of Product Development for Titus Labs. He balances his work life by giving back to his community, coaching new immigrants in job search and interview skills, for instance.

Harout Semerjian, EMBAA, executive VP and chief commercial officer at Ipsen, was named one of the “2018 Emerging Pharma Leaders” by Pharmaceutical Executive. The magazine’s editors noted that Harout has “overseen a period of unprecedented growth across Ipsen specialty care’s three franchises: oncology, neuroscience and rare diseases” since joining the company in February 2017.
