Michael Young, EMBAA, became chief technology officer at Reuters in August. Based in New York, Michael oversees the company’s technology strategy. Michael was previously Thomson Reuters’ head of digital-experience platforms and head of risk development.

Ashutosh Chandra (MBA) and his wife Darshana are pleased to announce the birth of Anya on April 30 in Bangalore. “She brings good luck and prosperity to the family,” says Ashutosh, “and keeps everyone in the family engaged, especially brother Ayush.” Ashutosh currently heads Airline Marketing and Aviation Contracts at India’s new Bangalore International Airport. Since its opening on May 24, an additional five international airlines have begun flying into Bangalore.

Abbas Aslani (MSc) is starting his PhD in Management and Organizations at Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, Chicago, this fall. Some of the streams of research he plans to pursue are “Cross-cultural studies on conflict and negotiation, with a focus on the Middle East, Emotions and affects in negotiations” and “The impact of communication media and technology on negotiation and conflict processes and outcomes.”

Chris Bryson, BCom’06, recently sold his company, Unata, to the American grocery delivery giant Instacart. Chris started Unata in Toronto in 2011. The company helps grocery chains connect digitally with customers. Chris will remain CEO of Unata, which now operates as an Instacart subsidiary.

Chris Bryson, BCom, is the Founder and CEO of Unata, the leading provider of one-to-one digital solutions for grocers (featured in the summer issue’s ‘Start-Ups Snapshot’ article). In September 2016, Canadian Business and PROFIT Today ranked Unata number 49 on the PROFIT 500, the definitive ranking of Canada’s fastest-growing companies. Unata is on pace to achieve 350% YOY revenue expansion in 2016, following the 700% revenue growth it achieved in 2015, Chris reports.

Ashutosh Chandra, MBA’06, tells us that since graduating he’s been working in the airline industry in India. He lives in Karnataka and has been the chief airport officer at Mangaluru International Airport since early 2020. In this role, he led the privatization of the airport and the takeover by Adani Group from the Airport Authority of India in October 2020. He says his wife enjoys living in a small town and being near the beaches, temples and greenery around Mangalore. Daughter Anya is completing school online, and son Ayush lives in Brazil.
