Mark R. Holland, MBA, died in an Oakville, Ont., hospital of cancer on April 12, aged 49. Mark is survived by his mother, Donalee Dunbar Forbes; his father, Ken J.D. Holland; his stepfather, Donalee’s partner, Daniel Gilpin; Ken’s wife, Aldona Tusas; siblings Daniel Dunbar Holland and Alexandra Holland; and his extended family. Mark served with the Royal Canadian Navy Naval Reserve, travelling to Cambodia as River Base Commander with the UN Peacekeeping Force from 1992 to 1993, and then moved to Calgary, where he consulted in the oil-and-gas industry and taught on behalf of the Department of Defence at the University of Calgary. Mark loved basketball and played on both the Guelph Gryphons and Queen’s Golden Gales teams and toured Europe with the Canadian Armed Forces basketball team.

Charles T. Kidd (EMBA) is enjoying life with his family in Indonesia. His daughters Nila, Ashley and Aiysha (27 months) keep him young. Charles extends an open invitation and would love to have some of his great friends from class visit. Steven Lawrence (MBA) continues to work as a fractal artist and reports he is nearing the completion of a grand survey of complexity in our universe, comprising nearly 7,000 images. He’s taken 1,000 of these pictures to design image-driven seminars on various topics, including a survey of fine art from a fractal perspective and business strategies to suit a complex universe.

Steven Lawrence (MBA) is still in Kingston and still active as a fractal artist under the name Well Bred Fractals, as described in the Summer ’08 issue of Inquiry (forerunner of QSB Magazine). He’s getting ready to add classes for adults to the Complexity Science presentations he’s already giving in high school math classes, but, with tourist season coming, he’s also gearing up for Kingston by Bike! These are his information-rich, three-hour, guided bicycle tours of historic Kingston.
