May was a big month for George Rossolatos (BCom) Toronto. On May 6, the Globe and Mail Report on Business announced that he was one of this year’s bright young “leaders of today and tomorrow” in the “Top 40 Under 40” chosen by a Caldwell Partners panel from 1,500 nominees. And then on May 14 he and his wife Zoe welcomed their first child, Nicholas, “a little big guy” weighing in at 9 lb. 3 oz. and measuring 22 inches. At 35, George is partner and co-founder of Torquest Partners, a private equity firm with $700-million of equity capital under management. The company thrives on “friendly takeovers” – acquiring, forming partnerships with, and investing in businesses that would thrive with operational support from Torquest’s 19 expert staffers. Among these partners have been Lowepro, Herbal Magic and Global Traffic Technologies. For more details, look for “Top 40 Under 40” on the Internet and follow the links to George.
