Rob Renaud, BCom, was recently appointed president of Encor Advisors, a new commercial real-estate consulting and brokerage firm in Toronto. Rob says Encor’s focus “includes acting as an outsourced real-estate department for companies to manage their workplace strategies, lease renewals, facility relocations, property investments, sales and new developments.” Rob lives in Etobicoke, Ont., with his spouse, Sarah Renaud, Artsci’96. They have three children (Hunter, Jake and Anara) and are about to welcome a Portuguese water dog puppy into the family.

Rob Renaud (BCom), of Toronto, is President (Central Chapter) of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) Canada. Rob has been active in the real estate community for more than 15 years and was the 2011 recipient of SIOR’s Office Broker of the Year Award, which recognizes the superior performance and achievements of a real estate brokerage advisor.

Rob was recently promoted to Senior VP and Managing Principal at Newmark Knight Frank Devencore— Canada’s largest corporate tenant real estate brokerage. His new role entails overseeing the company’s expansion, including a new office in the western part of the GTA. The Renauds live in Toronto and can be reached at renauds@rogers.com

Besides being named his company’s top producer in 2010, he is also a regular media commentator on corporate real estate markets. Elaine Routledge, EMBA, died in hospital March 19 with family around her. Born in Qu’Appelle, Sask., Elaine spent her career with the federal government. She retired as assistant commissioner with the Canada Revenue Agency in 2006, turning her attention to gardening. She was active in a number of horticultural associations and shared her knowledge and love of gardening with many others. She was also responsible for the redesign and redevelopment of the Butterfly Garden by the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario in Ottawa. Elaine is survived by her husband, André Dimitrijevic, and siblings Eleanor, Shirley, Janet and Jim.

Dan Tisch, EMBA’96, Artsci’91, and his parents, Fedor Tisch and Edie Echevarria Tisch, took a trip in December to Uruguay to explore their family history. The visit took them from the bustling capital, Montevideo, to rural gaucho country near the Brazilian border. “Qué viaje!” he writes.

Jennifer Tomlinson, MBA, became chair of the board of directors of Cross Country Ski de fond Canada in June 2018. She is the first woman to chair the organization that governs cross-country skiing. Jennifer lives in Ottawa, where she is an associate partner with Avenai. She’s a longtime skier and has been a cross-country ski coach and official.

Jason Trueman (BCom) and his wife, KristieMode (BCom’98), have repatriated to Kingston after seven years in Bermuda. Their family now includes Sierra (5) and Triton (3), who are both excited about building their first snowmen this winter! Jason recently started working with MD Private Investment Counseling and Kristie will be starting her own Pilates studio in the new year.

Mark Vrooman (BCom) and his wife Jackie are pleased to announce the safe arrival on Dec. 18, 2010, of Kelsey Jacqueline, born at home in Ajax, ON, and weighing in at 9 lbs. 12 oz. Siblings Luke (6) and Avery (4) are proud and excited about their new sister, and the Vroomans are all looking forward to life as “a party of five.” Mark is an assurance partner at Ernst & Young.
