Seventh Annual CSFN Conference

The Alberta School of Business is pleased to host the 7th Canadian Sustainable Finance Network Conference on June 11-12, 2026, at the University of Alberta in Edmonton.
The 2026 CSFN Conference invites submissions of academic papers on sustainable finance and the intersection of corporate governance and sustainability. The conference brings together academics and financial industry participants with a shared commitment to sustainable finance. It offers an opportunity to discuss issues in sustainable finance both within Canada and globally. Ultimately, the conference aims to serve as a platform that fosters dialogue and advances sustainable finance research and education across Canada.
Keynote Speaker
We are excited to announce that our keynote speaker will be Professor Stefano Giglio, Frederic D. Wolfe Professor of Finance and Management at the Yale School of Management, Yale University.
Paper Submission
The conference will feature paper presentations with discussants as well as shorter presentations in an early ideas and thought-leadership session. Please submit your contributions by March 15, 2026 to csfn2026@ualberta.ca. There is no submission fee. We welcome submissions from Ph.D. students (please indicate your student status in the submission). In your submission, please include the following:
- Your paper (PDF) using the following file naming format: lastname-affiliation.pdf.
- Presenter’s name and affiliation.
- Whether you are interested in serving as a discussant.
- Whether you would like to be considered for the short presentation session.
Paper acceptance will be communicated by early April 2026.

The Canadian Sustainable Finance Network is an independent research and educational network that brings together academics and members from industry, government, and civil society. Its mission is to facilitate knowledge sharing, open new avenues for research, and foster collaborations with partners across Canada and around the world in all topics of sustainable finance. - Fort Edmonton Park, Canada’s largest living history museum, offering an immersive look at Western Canadian history in a beautifully landscaped river valley setting.
- Muttart Conservatory, an architectural landmark featuring striking glass pyramids and curated botanical collections from around the world.
- Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, with regular summer performances in one of Canada’s top concert halls.
- Elk Island National Park, a 40-minute drive from Edmonton for bison and wildlife viewing and lake walks.
- Visit the beautiful Rockies in Jasper or Banff and Lake Louise with the option of returning from Calgary.
