Award winning teacher: Yolande Chan 1994

Queen's National Scholar in management information systems Yolande Chan was chosen for the Commerce'89 Award by graduating Commerce students, in recognition of her contribution to their class over their four years at the school.

"It has meant the world," Chan said of the award, "because I find it particularly difficult to balance teaching requirements and research requirements in terms of time, energy, and so forth...it was just really encouraging to have the students vote me that professor. The students mean a lot to me, they are part of my 'family' here. They're a big part of why I'm here."
