ICBC: five years of tradition 1983

By the 5th annual Intercollegiate Business Competition in 1983, the event had gained recognition and regard from Canadian universities, the business community and government. "We hope to encourage discussion of significant topics and to establish relationships which will endure in future years," said John Gordon, dean of the school. Five years after the inaugural competition, 25 sponsors had joined the Financial Post, and 17 schools participated, the highest in the event's history.

"ICBC is a showcase of the business leaders of tomorrow - how they learn in a high-calibre teaching environment," said Terri Tinella, BCom'83, competition chair. "The emphasis is not on intercollegiate victory but on the application of business skills to 'real life' problems."
