From the Dean - Summer 2013

I often speak to our alumni about QSB’s bold vision to continue to be one of the world’s most innovative and influential business schools. Some of the recent developments that are advancing our vision include the expansion of Goodes Hall, the hiring of new faculty in Accounting and Finance, and the new Master of Management Analytics program, which welcomed its inaugural class in June.

While alumni support is vital to all of our initiatives, you played a particularly important role in our most recent innovation by helping us redesign a cornerstone of QSB programming — the full-time MBA. After consultation with our community of alumni, students, faculty and recruiters, we proudly relaunched the Queen’s MBA program (qsb.ca/newmba) in April. The new approach enables students to enhance their credentials with greater specialization in high-demand sectors and earn an additional business Master’s degree, and the January start better aligns with corporate hiring cycles (see story in this issue.)

I want to thank the many alumni who play a role in our continued success. We look forward to welcoming graduates back to campus this fall for the newly reinstated Queen’s Homecoming. While we welcome all of you at any time of the year, special celebrations are planned this fall for classes with years ending in '8' (Oct. 4-6) and '3' (Oct. 18-20).

We look forward to seeing you soon. Stay in touch!
