Peter Lukomskyj
Peter Lukomskyj (EMBA) has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of QuickMobile, a Vancouver-based developer of enterprise social mobile solutions. Previously, he served as Vice President of Strategic Sales Programs at Sophos, a global IT security and data protection company. In his new role, he oversees QuickMobile’s daily operations and directly manages the sales and product delivery teams.

Alexander Mccallum
Wendy McCallum (EMBA) has a son, Alexander, who arrived in great form in the early hours of Dec. 9 – very healthy, 7 lbs. 10 oz., and 20 inches long. He continues to grow quickly, and both mother and son are very well. “I savoured our first Christmas holiday season together in our new home,” Wendy writes. “Thank you all very much for your good wishes and lovely gifts.”

Ian McKay (EMBA'05) was appointed National Director of the Liberal Party of Canada effective March 1, 2010. The BC native will be relocating to Ottawa to lead the National Office and assume responsibility for the party's day-to-day activities across the country.

Kaz Nejatian, BCom’05, was promoted to chief operating officer at Shopify in fall 2022. He had been the company’s vice-president of product, a title he retains. Kaz started his career as a lawyer before co-founding Kash, a payment technology company that he later sold. He says his role at Shopify is the culmination of a lifetime interest in entrepreneurship, finance and technology. (He adds that his mother runs her own business on Shopify.) Kaz is proudly married to bestselling author Candice Malcolm. They have three children: Jasper (4), Georgia (2) and Juno (6 months).

Madjid Rassamanesh
Madjid Rassamanesh (EMBA) and his wife Salome welcomed their son, Aiden Sam, to the world on April 27. He weighed 3.5 kg and measured 56 cm. Both mom and baby are healthy and fine, though a long learning curve for all is expected. Madjid thanks everyone who called, emailed or visited. “The support was greatly appreciated.”

Meghan Roach and Joanne Sallay

Joanne Sallay, BCom’04, (left) and Meghan Roach, BCom’05, made the list of Canada’s 100 Most Powerful Women by WXN (the Women’s Executive Network) last November. Roach, president and chief executive at Roots, was named one of Canada’s most powerful CEOs. Sallay, president and CEO of Teachers on Call, was awarded in the entrepreneurship category. They were joined in the Top 100 by Victoria Granova, AMBA’19. She is a manager at Amazon Web Services and was recognized in the STEM category.

Daniel H. (Dan) Scarrow (BCom) was named Vice President of Macdonald Realty Group, Vancouver, in March. He has been working there since 2006, and in 2009 achieved sales of more than $50 million as a real estate agent. As VP, Dan is responsible for plotting the mid- and long-term strategy for the company, taking into account emerging technological and regulatory changes as well as market fluctuations. Because of this, Dan is now considered one of British Columbia’s preeminent real estate experts and is often quoted in such publications as the Vancouver Sun, National Post, and The Globe and Mail.

Dan Scarrow, BCom, was recently named president of Macdonald Real Estate Group, the parent company of Macdonald Realty in Vancouver. Dan says that Macdonald Realty was founded in 1944 and has grown to become British Columbia’s largest full-service corporately owned real estate company, with over 20 corporate offices and more than 1,000 agents and staff in B.C. Prior to this role, Dan opened and ran Macdonald’s office in Shanghai, China.

Dave Sharpe
Dave Sharpe (EMBA) and family are in the process of relocating from Japan back to Canada so Dave can take on the role of Vice-President with Rockwell Automation in Cambridge, ON. The family had a great experience living in Asia for the last few years and before that in Latin America, but they’re excited at the prospect of returning home to friends and family.
