Juggy Sihota, EMBA, was recently named to Vancouver Magazine’s Power 50 list. Juggy is vice-president of consumer health at Telus. The magazine cited her work in “helping Telus emerge as one of the biggest health-care players in the country.” She’s a member of the VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation Board and the Canadian Men’s Health Foundation. She also advises the City of Vancouver on racial and ethno-cultural equity issues.

Sophie De Villers (EMBA) died of cancer in Hull, QC, on Feb. 21. She was 50. Sophie is mourned by her husband, Wayne Bowers, her mother Thérèse Lévesque, a large family of siblings, nieces and nephews, many friends, and her colleagues at Canadian Blood Services (CBS), where she was Vice-President, Strategy Management. Sophie joined CBS at its inception, September 1998, initially as Executive Assistant to the CEO. In successive roles, but particularly through the Office of Strategy Management set up in 2005 when she completed her Queen’s degree, she played an integral role in helping shape the transformation of Canadian Blood Services into the world-class organization it is today. Her leadership abilities, far-reaching vision, remarkable insight and committed passion are credited with putting CBS among a very few organizations globally to be inducted into the Balanced Scorecard Strategy Hall of Fame. When she took ill, Sophie was heavily involved in developing an integrated national system to improve organ and tissue donation and transplantation.

Genevieve Young, EMBA, joined Auxly Cannabis Group in December as an independent member of its board of directors. Genevieve is the president and chief operating officer of Global Public Affairs, where she leads a team of more than 75 and works on the organization’s cannabis practice.

Robert Patrick Brennan (EMBA) died at home in Pakenham, ON, on July 10 following a 13-month battle with brain cancer. Growing up in Sheenboro, QC, Rob learned the value of hard work and strong ties to family and the land. In 2004, he founded Triacta Power Technologies in Almonte, ON, and earned admiration and respect for his vision and leadership in business and community pursuits. He shared his life with Barb Long, his wife of 27 years, and his children Jane, Kate, Tom and Liz were his pride and joy. His wise counsel, generosity, frank insight, quick wit and appreciation for the simple things in life will continue to be an inspiration to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
