Deepankar Deep Dey
Deepankar (Deep) Dey (MBA) and his wife Priyanka are delighted to share the arrival of their little bundle of joy—their cute little daughter Anushka—on Jan. 20 in Toronto.

Adam Gordon, MBA’09, says that as president of Gordon’s Downsizing & Estate Services he’s been helping the team grow its sales and service area across Ontario. “We’ve seen significant growth happening in the GTA and Ottawa areas . . . If you know someone that needs help with downsizing or settling an estate, you’ve found the right real estate company.” Outside of the office, Adam says he, his wife Heather Campbell, BCom’02, and their three children enjoy travelling. One of their recent trips was to Ocho Rios, Jamaica.

Adam Gordon, MBA’09, writes “After running auction clerking sheets to the office as a six-year-old and becoming an auctioneer at 16 with my family’s company back in the ’80s and ’90s, I’ve recently rejoined the Gordon's Downsizing & Estate Services team as president.” Before returning to the family business, Adam was a member of the Canadian and British Armed Forces, worked in management consulting at KPMG, and most recently was COO for online auction platform MaxSold. Adam and his wife, Heather Gordon, BCom’02, live in The Beach area of Toronto with their children: Abigail (8), Gwendolyn (6) and Tavish (3). “We love spending time with friends and family and are looking forward to new adventures!” he says.

Adam Gordon (MBA) reports that after a military career, an MBA, and a five-year stint in management consulting, he is now focused on his family legacy of supporting people downsizing their homes and those dealing with estates. As the COO of MaxSold—the company he helped create while pursuing his MBA and working as a consultant—he is working with CEO Sushee Perumal (MBA’07) to expand the company across North America. Chessa Jope

Chessa Jope, BCom’09, has been named a CPA Ontario 2022 Emerging Leader, an award that recognizes distinguished younger members of CPA Ontario who are socially responsible leaders and innovators, already making notable contributions with significant impact. A finance director with Ontario Power Generation, Chessa played a role in the recent acquisitions of hydropower and gas facilities in the U.S. and Canada as well as the development of Ontario Power’s climate-related financial disclosures and climate change plan. She serves as vice-chair of Electricity Canada’s finance and accounting committee and volunteers her time with CPA Ontario as a mentor and panel member for the capstone program. She is also a Queen’s University councillor.

Kel B. Knutson (AMBA) successfully funded a management buyout of an oil and gas service company in Edmonton, AB, that subsequently hired him as its CFO. The firm is positioned for substantial growth with new product and service offerings for expanding markets in Alberta and overseas and a workforce that has increased by more than 100%. Baby Nathan Knutson gets big hugs from his sisters
Kel Knutson (AMBA) happily announces the birth of Nathan Cory on Aug. 14, 2009, weighing in at a “hefty” 9 lbs., 3 oz. Both parents and his two sisters are thrilled with the new addition to the family.

Juanita Lohmeyer (CQ-EMBA, BSc), PMP, CMA, was awarded a Next Generation Leadership award on Nov. 5 in Ottawa. Presented at Canada’s Government Technology Exhibition and Conference, the award recognizes and celebrates projects and individuals in public sector roles who have demonstrated leadership excellence in the innovative management and application of information technologies. The award particularly recognizes outstanding leadership of individuals with less than five years’ experience. She recently led a technology modernization project for the Insurance Corporation of BC’s 26 contact centres and the development of a governance frame-work for an employee portal. Juanita is an advisor at Vantage Point, which inspires and builds leadership in the non-profit sector, and has been mentoring students in UBC’s Computer Science program for nine years, for which she received an Amazing Mentor Award.
